A flipped classroom is when the information and material are offered online and out of class to the students, so when the teacher is available there are more activities to review and share their questions about the material. There are many issues about this instructional design because it limits the children who do not have technology at home and also struggle learning material on their own. Also, the teacher may move ahead in their lesson plan and a student may have not been able to look over the previous information because they do not have access to technology at home. Open Educational resources are any materials for teaching or learning that are available for no cost at all. These resources are very helpful for teachers because they are able to find new lesson plans and ways to use technology in the classroom. Also, anyone is able to access these resources for educational purposes. I found an article online that explains what OER materials are, ho...

A few skills I learned from working with Diigo was the formatting, editing, and sharing of certain websites on Diigo. I personally would not use this resource in my classroom because I find the commenting and organizing too confusing for teachers and students to communicate and share information. If I would use this resource in my classroom I would have it to show my class the important quotes and sections of articles by using the highlight feature on Diigo. Also using Diigo in my individual professional efforts, I could use this resource while finding quotes from my sources for papers that I write for my college classes.  The first level of Bloom's Taxonomy is to remember; which is to recall facts and basic concepts. So I could use PowerPoint and make a vocabulary lesson; then have a review lesson at the end and have the students calling out the words with fill in the blank. The second level of Bloom's Taxonomy is understand; which is to explain ideas or ...

I have been using Twitter ever since I was in middle school, so using it in this class it came quite easily to me. Since I knew all of the general features of Twitter, it was easy for me to create an account and interact with my fellow classmates. I have learned that on Twitter many teachers create a hashtag to communicate with each other and distribute their ideas. I didn't know that this existed before this class. This is definitely beneficial for teachers because they are able to see what other teachers are successfully doing in their classes and share different ideas. I haven't experienced any issues with Twitter because like I said before I am very familiar with the social media platform. When creating my website I learned how to add a Creative Commons License to a website. This was difficult for me because I didn't know if you just add a photo or what the process was like but then I realized the process wasn't that difficult with some guidance. I honestly l...

Using the Florida State University Schools' website, I found multiple teachers' websites that range from middle school to high school teachers. One website I found was Mrs. Olgar, who is a 6th grade World Geography teacher. She teaches many different types of classes like regular World Geography, advanced World Geography, and African American History. She has her syllabus on her and a calendar for all of her students. She also has a page for each class she teaches and on those pages there are links to the presentations in class and resources the students can use to help them in class. When I start my teaching career, I will create my own website for the parents to use to be able to participate in and out of the classroom. Since I will be teaching elementary school, I will not have that many online assignments that the children will have to do outside of class. So the website will be used mainly for connecting the parents to their children's' learning. Pos...
