Blog Journal #7

I have been using Twitter ever since I was in middle school, so using it in this class it came quite easily to me. Since I knew all of the general features of Twitter, it was easy for me to create an account and interact with my fellow classmates. I have learned that on Twitter many teachers create a hashtag to communicate with each other and distribute their ideas. I didn't know that this existed before this class. This is definitely beneficial for teachers because they are able to see what other teachers are successfully doing in their classes and share different ideas. I haven't experienced any issues with Twitter because like I said before I am very familiar with the social media platform.

When creating my website I learned how to add a Creative Commons License to a website. This was difficult for me because I didn't know if you just add a photo or what the process was like but then I realized the process wasn't that difficult with some guidance. I honestly loved creating this website because I love to be creative with adding videos and pictures and just making the website visually pleasing. I really like my homepage on my website because of the video in the background. One thing I wish I would have focused on a little more with is my resource page. If I would have added more resources and spent more time that slide would have had more depth to it and I could have utilized the slideshow feature better. In my future career having a class website is almost essential in this day in age; so using this website as my basis and editing/ adding I can make it the perfect website for my class.

Here is a link to my website that I created!

Assistive and adaptive technologies are created to give those with disabilities the same playing field as to the other students when it comes to certain activities and test that are administered using technology. They support learners by giving them more options to access technology by making it either visually larger or administered in audio. A few people in my family that are older asked me to adjust the size of the text on their phone because they were not able to read it because their vision has gotten worse and worse over the years. A few challenges that I feel I could go through in my classroom is having a student who is unable to read the words thoroughly because of their vision because that is quite common. I would create documents that were interactive and you would be able to change the color and font of the text, so it would be easier to read for the student.

ISTE Computational Thinker Resource

The standard that I chose helps children develop their problem solving skills with using technology methods; so I decided to find a website that had many different math games because this deals with algorithmic thinking. When I was in elementary and middle school I loved when we would go to the computer lab and get to choose what games we play because it gave me freedom to have fun while learning. I feel like finding a website that has a lot to choose from makes this process of Computational Thinking fun for the kids who don't like problem- solving or Math in general. Also this website offers Preschool to 5th grade, so as the students advances the games do as well! I have attached the link below to the website I found that has many different games that your students can play! Math Games
